Vitória, the capital of Espírito Santo, is composed of an archipelago of 33 islands and a mainland portion. According to the United Nations (UN), the city, with approximately 360 thousand inhabitants, is considered one of the best places to live in Brazil. It is one of two Brazilian cities home to the Humpback Whale Space, dedicated to promoting knowledge about various aquatic mammals, particularly humpback whales. From June to November, during their migration period when they can be spotted, the facility supports tourist excursions.
